Have you had a "looping" procedure to remove mild cervical dysplasia?

I am considering this procedure, however I dont know of anyone who has had it, and wanted some first hand feedback on what to expect, does it work to remove the pre-cancerous cells, will I be dissapointed with the outcome? Is it worth the discomfort. If there is discomfort, I want to hear about that too. My doctor said I could be on a 6 month callback to keep an eye on the area with colcoscopy and biobsy procedures. Thank you for taking time to help me decide what to do.
