We have Columbus day to celebrate the initiation of the extermination and enslavement of native Americans .

I wonder why people fight being exterminated or assimilated into a new culture .

Geronimo not only fought the Mexican government but the United States government to remain free along with his people a battle he lost in the end .

So , should we celebrate those who have fought oppressive regimes in the face of overwhelming odds in an effort to remain free .
