help with cali unemployment benefits and part time work?

I recently got laid off (after 16 years) from a high paying job. I'm collecting unemployment but was offered a part time job. I know that they will deduct what I make from my benefits but does that extend the period I will receive those benefits? In other words, will I get benefits until my eligible dollar amount is exhausted or am I only entitled to benefits for a certain period of time- whether or not I max out the dollar amount?
